Cider Hill:
The Creation of |
In 1974, Sarah and Gary Milek created a lifestyle around plants and fine art, inspired by the natural beauty of the woodland plants and wildflowers that surround them. They designed and constructed their home, the gardens, greenhouses, and art gallery on an abandoned apple orchard, that lends its name to the business. Together their vision is to delight your senses and increase your love of the whole earth’s garden. When designing her gardens, Sarah, an accomplished herbalist and horticulturist, draws on her background in art and dance to create beautiful floral displays throughout the grounds. A constant gatherer of herbs and herbal knowledge, she is ever ready to share her passion and knowledge of flowers and herbs. Time permitting, Sarah is available for lectures and demonstrations.
A world-renowned painter, Gary studied art at Syracuse University, Boston Museum Art School, and Rijks Museum in Amsterdam, where he perfected the technique of egg tempera and gold leaf. His paintings capture the brilliance of the gardens and the golden hue of the landscape around their home in rural Vermont. |
